Hello!

My name is Jillian Metchooyeah and I am Dene, a member of the Dene Tha’ First Nation from Alberta, Canada. I am an author and artist, but outside of creating, I work at a public library as a cataloguer. Through my work as a cataloguer, I have grown very fond of children’s picture books and aspire to be a traditionally published children’s book author/illustrator.

On this page, you’ll find artistic things I’ve been working on which may range from artwork to bookbinding. And there will be so many birds! Both artwork and photography of the lovely birds I come across in Alberta. Given the name I chose for my site, it should be no surprise that there will be many corvids throughout!
